CPI Announces Partnership with Firebolt Ag, LLC

[HASTINGS, NE April 1, 2025] – Cooperative Producers, Inc. (CPI) has announced its purchase of Firebolt Ag, LLC, strengthening its commitment to delivering exceptional products, solutions, and services to drive customer success. This partnership expands CPI’s presence within its trade area and aligns with its strategy to grow its agronomy operations.

Established in 2019 by Josh McClain and his wife Melissa, Firebolt Ag operates out of Norton and Phillipsburg, Kansas, serving the agronomic and application needs of local farmers. The two companies began collaborating in 2023 on agronomic inputs and again in 2024, when Firebolt Ag became CPI’s key third-party partner for sustainability and carbon initiatives, supporting both CPI’s customer base and its own.

Reflecting on the acquisition, Josh McClain stated, “Firebolt Ag and CPI have built a strong relationship over time. By joining forces, we can expand our product range, enhance service offerings, and improve profitability for growers in the region.” Looking ahead, he emphasized, “Partnerships are at the heart of what we do—within our team and with our customers. CPI’s shared values and combined resources will propel Firebolt’s growth and elevate the customer experience.” Over the past six years, Josh has assembled a top-notch team that has been instrumental in the company’s continued success.

“CPI is thrilled to welcome Firebolt Ag into its fold,” said CPI CEO Gary Brandt. “The company has excelled at growing its business and delivering outstanding service to area growers. The cooperative model, where customers are also owners, is stronger today because of our acquisition of Firebolt.”

Firebolt Ag will retain its name, and Josh McClain will continue to oversee daily operations from the Norton location.
