CPI to Expand Grain Storage & Rail Upgrades at Multiple Locations

[HASTINGS, NE July 2, 2026] — Cooperative Producers, Inc. (CPI) has announced plans to expand grain storage at several Nebraska locations. The planned projects include facilities in Fairmont, Hastings, Minden, and Red Cloud. In addition to increasing storage capacity, CPI is also upgrading unload speeds at these locations.

CPI is also investing in rail facility upgrades at its Giltner and Sutton locations, providing greater rail loading access and expanding marketing opportunities for patrons.

Construction is currently underway at each site, with all projects expected to be completed before the start of the 2026 fall harvest. CPI previously announced the construction of a 2-million-bushel grain building in Red Cloud, which is now nearing completion.

“These expansions will add more than 8 million bushels of combined storage capacity and increase our combined unload speed by 105,000 bushels per hour,” said Justin Yoesel, Vice President of Grain at Cooperative Producers, Inc. “The rail investments at Giltner and Sutton will open additional market opportunities for our patrons in those areas. This increased marketing flexibility is paramount in today’s ever-changing markets.”

Yoesel also expressed gratitude to the CPI Board of Directors for their continued commitment to investing in the cooperative’s facilities. Additional details will be shared as the projects progress.
